What do you need to say goodbye to?
I love watching sunsets. 🌅 I enjoy going to the beach or finding rooftop restaurants that show off the beauty far beyond any painting can capture.
A sunset symbolizes the end of the day. It is always a gift. Each one is a little different.
Sometimes it’s cloudy and you can’t even see it, but nevertheless, behind the clouds, the sun is going down.
In the same way, the sun must set on some behaviors, habits, and even relationships. What if we embrace the beauty in the transformation and appreciate the journey?
Trying to hold on to what we cannot control or behaviors that prevent us from being loving, healthy, happy, and whole is fighting a losing battle.
When we are purposeful about growing, eventually we can let go of what is killing us. I am saying goodbye to criticizing and judging others, self-doubt, and worry on a regular.
You know the song, “Change”? The lyrics go, “I’m not what I want to be, BUT I’m not what I used to be. I’m not the same. Thank God! Thank God!💃🏿🙌🏾
What can sunsets teach us?
🙏🏾 Begin to release anger, unforgiveness, self-inflicted destructive behaviors
🙏🏾 Embrace the fact that you cannot control the behaviors of others
🙏🏾 Be grateful for the lessons learned in a chapter and use what you learn to make tomorrow better
🙏🏾 Appreciate every failure as an opportunity to do better
🙏🏾 Take time to rest and recover
I recently outlined something I said goodbye to — hypertension. Everyone’s journey is different, but it can start with just a simple step.
