Stiff As a Board?

One of the challenges with many of my clients when they start a program is that they feel really stiff.  The tightness causes muscle soreness and makes activities for daily living difficult.  Even standing for any length of time is grueling.

This year is worse because many are sitting at home at a computer more than ever!  There is a lot of discomfort in the low back and bending for the slightest reason is difficult.  One of the stretches that can help take the stress off of the low back and give you more mobility through your hips.

When I started stretching I was super tight.  I could not perform stretches well at all.  I began incorporating stretches using proper form and accepted where I was.  I was just a starting point I used as a benchmark.

This seated stretch can be done in just minutes.  By improving the flexibility in your inner thighs and hamstrings, you will improve your posture and make daily tasks like walking upstairs and bending much easier.  Consider including this stretch into your daily routine and begin decreasing your biological age, feeling younger, and getting back more mobility.

Perform stretch sitting tall on your sit bones. 1. Extend one leg long. Keep hip open, kneecap facing the sky. 2. Hinge from the hip, keep your spine long throughout. You should feel a slight pulling, slight tension. You should not feel pain. 3. Hold the stretch 20 to 30 sec.
